The time for meeting the objectives of the Paris Agreement is running out. This year's annual UNEP emissions gap report found that while global emissions need to be roughly halved by 2030 to maintain a good chance of keeping average global temperature increase at 1.5 degrees Celsius, current Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) submitted up to the start of the Glasgow conference will deliver only a reduction of about 7 per cent.
The Glasgow conference was supposed to mark a major milestone in the fight against climate change, triggering a strengthening of climate action and finalising the “rulebook” of the Paris Agreement. At this Wuppertal Lunch, we will take stock of what the conference actually delivered and how further progress may be achieved. We will discuss the COP (Conference of the Parties) outcome with the following panelists:
Lola Vallejo, Climate Programme Director, Institut du développement durable et des relations internationales (IDDRI)
Wolfgang Obergassel, Co-Head of the Research Unit Global Climate Governance, Wuppertal Institute
María José Sanz, Scientific Director, Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3)
Hosted by Dr. Lukas Hermwille, Senior Researcher, Research Unit Global Climate Governance, Wuppertal Institute.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
