Biological waste and biobased polymers as a substitution of petroleum-based raw materials

The four innovation spaces for bioeconomy New-FoodSystems, BioBall, BioTexFuture and BaMS, which are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), cordially invite you to inform yourself about the diversity of scientific and technical progress in the bioeconomy in Germany on five different occasions. In the long term, the goal must be to become independent of fossil raw materials.

The sources of recycling and biomass play a central role in this. For a sustainable circular economy (economic, ecological, social) it is indispensable to make residual materials usable again in high-quality products. In addition to the use of locally available, renewable material flows, locally produced, renewable raw materials (e.g. biopolymers) also contribute to reducing dependence on fossil raw materials.

The topic of this web seminar is "Biological waste and biobased polymers as a substitution of petroleum-based raw materials for innovative textile materials", hosted by BIOTEXFUTURE, https://www.biotexfuture.de/.

BIOTEXFUTURE is an innovation space funded by Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for a duration of 5 years. We are collaborating with industrial and scientific partners who share our vision to convert the textile value chain from petroleum- to bio-based and strive every day to create the change needed in the industry.

Since November 2019, adidas is co-leading the program in collaboration with the Institut für Textiltechnik and Institute of Sociology of the RWTH Aachen University. The Institut für Textiltechnik is the core of the ITA Group International Centre for Sustainable Textiles focussing on the holistic biotransformation of textile technology. Their aim is to use biological principles for small-scale value-added processes, https://www.ita.rwth-aachen.de/cms/ITA/Das-Institut/~kzwq/Leitbild/?lidx=1.

The web seminar is led by BaMS Uni-Kiel, Homepage. BaMS is the innovation space "Bioeconomy on Marine Sites" led by Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, https://www.bams.uni-kiel.de/de?set_language=de&set_language=en

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
