Progress in developing alternative methods to animal testing is fundamentally transforming drug development and toxicological assessment. Precise and reproducible in vitro and ex vivo models enable new scientific insights and pave the way for more patient-relevant research.
The 4th Workshop in the “Alternatives to Animal Testing” series will focus on translational human tissue models, bridging the gap between in vitro discoveries and preclinical and clinical applications. Experts from molecular biology, clinical research, biomedical engineering, and materials science will discuss innovative model systems, emerging technologies, and the implementation of alternative testing strategies.
The program will feature inspiring sessions on:
• Bioengineering & enabling technologies
• Intestinal models – applications & perspectives
• Skin and environmental interaction
Participants are invited to present their work during the poster session. Abstract submission is open until November 6, 2025. Further details can be found.
Note: The workshop takes place one day before the 6th Fraunhofer CIMD Immunology Research Day – an excellent opportunity to attend both events!
