Wie weit darf Vertrauen gehen, wenn Überwachung zur Normalität wird? Der vielfach ausgezeichnete Dokumentarfilm Total Trust der chinesischen Regisseurin Jialing Zhang (u. a. Deutscher Dokumentarfilmpreis 2024, Grimme-Preis 2025) zeichnet ein eindringliches Bild digitaler Kontrolle und ihrer Folgen für Freiheit, Angst und gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt.
Im Rahmen der Weizenbaum-Filmnacht – einer Veranstaltungsreihe des Weizenbaum-Instituts, die Forschung, Kultur und öffentliche Debatte miteinander verbindet – zeigen wir den Film im Georg-Neumann-Saal der UdK Berlin.
Im Anschluss diskutieren der Produzent Michael Grotenhoff, Lena Rohrbach (Amnesty International) und weitere Gäste über Vertrauen, Verantwortung und Widerstand im digitalen Zeitalter – und darüber, was Total Trust auch über uns erzählt. Eine persönliche Grußbotschaft der Regisseurin Jialing Zhang eröffnet den Abend.
