Threat landscapes evolve as digital technologies are more pervasively deployed – and deeper embedded in – private and professional environments. Recently, much of this evolution and subsequent adoption is driven by AI. At the same time, this growing adoption underscores that cybersecurity risks relating to critical digital infrastructures (as demonstrated by numerous outages by AWS or Cloudflare, but also submarine sea cables and energy supply), as well as at the device and product level, are intensifying. Whereas policies to address cybersecurity and resilience have emerged, geopolitical tensions complicate a harmonized path towards addressing the emerging threat landscape.
This interdisciplinary panel brings together experts from diverse geographic and institutional contexts to discuss the most pressing cybersecurity governance challenges we face today. The discussion will critically assess current policy frameworks, explore the interplay between technological evolution and geopolitical dynamics, and seek to identify lessons for improved cybersecurity governance.
