Gibt es nur die Gegenwart? Oder gibt es die Vergangenheit immer noch?
Benjamin Andrae argumentiert, dass diese Grundfrage der Metaphysik der Zeit nicht nur abstrakt interessant ist, sondern auch für unser Leben einen wichtigen Unterschied machen kann.
Er legt fünf neue Argumente dafür vor, dass die Vergangenheit noch existiert – zum Beispiel, weil wir ohne eine existierende Vergangenheit kein sinnvolles Leben führen können; oder, weil wir die Vergänglichkeit etwas weniger fürchten müssen, wenn die Vergangenheit noch existiert.
Der Vortrag basiert auf dem neuen Buch „Nothing Lasts, but Nothing Ever Ends“ (Andrae, Springer, 2026).
