Das Symposium wird gemeinsam vom Kuratorium Deutsche Altershilfe (KDA), dem Netzwerk: Soziales neu gestalten (SONG) e.V. und der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung veranstaltet.
Vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Reformdebatten in Pflege, Gesundheit und Sozialpolitik wird erarbeitet, wie eine zukunftsfähige Absicherung von Pflegebedürftigkeit gestaltet werden kann. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen der Finanzierbarkeit, sozialen Gerechtigkeit sowie der besseren Verzahnung von Gesundheits-, Pflege- und Sozialpolitik.
Impulse kommen unter anderem von Prof. Dr. Heinz Rothgang, Prof. Dr. Georg Cremer (angefragt) und Dr. Rolf Schmachtenberg.
Anschließend werden die Themen mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Wissenschaft, Praxis und Verbänden diskutiert, darunter Nadine-Michèle Szepan, Prof. Dr. Thomas Klie und Michael Ranft - Autoren des KDA-Strategiepapiers "Reset Pflegeversicherung - Strukturreform Pflege und Teilhabe III". Moderation: KDA-Vorständin Dr. Alexia Zurkuhlen.
