Art on Board – the Beauty of Math

An exhibition of early mathematical prints from french sculptor Bernar
Venet combined with the Concinnitas Portfolio.

Born in France and based in New York, Bernar Venet is one of the
most influential contemporary sculptors of our time. He deals in his
work with concepts of lines and arcs; by means of curved lines, he
addresses time, space, movement, system and coincidence.
Concinnitas is a collection of fine art prints, curated by Dan Rockmore,
produced from the contributions of ten world-famous mathematicians
and physicists in response to the prompt to transcribe their
„most beautiful mathematical expression“: Michael Atiyah, Enrico
Bombieri, Simon Donaldson, Freeman Dyson, Murray Gell-Mann, Richard
Karp, Peter Lax, David Mumford, Stephen Smale, and Steven
Weinberg. It was published 2014 by Parasol Press in collaboration
with the Yale University Art Gallery and Bernard Jacobson Gallery.

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
