Die Thatcher-Illusion: Es ist schwieriger lokale Veränderungen in einem Gesicht wahrzunehmen wenn dieses auf dem Kopf steht. Hier werden zwei Gesichter eines Individuums gezeigt. Ein Bild ist normal, das andere ist ein deutlich grotesker Anblick bei aufrechter Präsentation, nicht aber, wenn die Gesichter invertiert gezeigt werden. Diese Illusion verschwindet zudem, wenn Gesichter einer anderen Spezies auf die gleiche Weise manipuliert werden (siehe Affengesichter).
