Der Natterwurz-Perlmutterfalters (Boloria titania) kommt bisher vorwiegend in den Alpen und in den Bergen des Balkans sowie im Baltikum vor. Die kältliebende Art ist auf den Wiesenknöterich (Polygonum bistortum) als Nahrungspflanze angewiesen und reagiert damit besonders sensibel auf Veränderungen. Ein "Auseinanderdriften" der Lebensräume von Schmetterling und Nahrungspflanze durch den Klimawandel würde die Art in Zukunft gefährden. Diese kälteliebende Art könnte dann zu den Verlierern des Klimawandels gehören.
