European XFEL erhielt eine Elektronenquelle der nächsten Generation. Eingebaut wurde sie im Injektor, ganz am Anfang des Beschleunigers, der sich auf dem DESY-Campus befindet. Die Elektronenquelle verbessert die Leistung des Beschleunigers.
