An der europäischen "2nd Young Researchers' Conference on FRP Reinforcement in Construction", welche im Vorfeld zur Tagung stattfand, wurden von der internationalen Jury ex aequo mit dem "Best Paper Award" ausgezeichnet (v.r.n.l.): Ernst L. Klamer, Eindhoven University of Technology, und Lander Vasseur, University of Gent, erhielten je eine silberne Mirko-Ros-Medaille. Für das beste Poster erhielt Dionysios A. Bournas, University of Patras, ebenfalls eine silberne Mirko-Ros-Medaille.
