Immer kleiner: Ein Atom besteht aus Kern und Hülle. Während Elektronen (gelber Ball) den Atomkern umkreisen, besteht der Kern aus Protonen und Neutronen. Im Inneren der Protonen werden die Quarks (grüne, blaue und rote Kugel) von den Gluonen (blaue Bändchen) zusammengehalten.
