Blätterdach im Sinharaja Tropenwald auf Sri Lanka. Das Foto zeigt Shorea trapezifolia in der Blüte. Diese Art ist einer der dominanten Laubbaumarten, die feuchte Habitate an Berghängen in mittleren und niedrigen Lagen bevorzugen. Das Untersuchungsgebiet wurde 1978 als Weltbiosphären-Reservat ausgewiesen und zählt seit 1988 zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe.
