In der frühen Phase nach Gewebeschädigung durch Chemotherapie und Bestrahlung kommt es durch die Zell Lyse zur Freistzung von endogenem ATP und UTP die als "Gefahrensignal" für Immunzellen funktionieren könnten. Dieses Gefahrensignal könnte die Aktivierung von Spender T Zellen verstärken, was dann in den GvHD Zielorganen zur verstärkten Gewebeschädigung führen könnte.
