Dr. Andreas Schmidt is a trained graduated chemist and worked in a variety of management roles at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA following his studies and doctorate at the universities of Duesseldorf and Duisburg as well as the Deutsches Textilforschungszentrum Nord-West e.V. He held the position of laboratory manager in Textile Fibres until 2008, and was subsequently in charge of product development in the area of metal pre-treatment and light metals (automotive). Starting on October 1, he will take up his new role as the director of the new "Function and Care" department, the Hohenstein Institute's second largest work area with approximately 50 employees.
