C/EBPalpha kommt auch in Nukleoli vor: In dieser mikroskopischen Aufnahme sind die Zellen mit Fluoreszenzfarbstoffen markiert. Der Zellkern leuchtet blau, die Nukleoli rötlich und die lange Variante von C/EBPalpha grün. Die Abbildung zeigt, dass die C/EBPalpha-Langform auch im Nukleolus der Zelle vorkommt. Dort verstärkt sie die Synthese von RNA, die für den Bau der proteinherstellenden Ribosomen entscheidend ist.
