Scaphognathus crassirostris ist ein Langschwanz-Flugsaurier, der vor rund 140 Millionen Jahren ausstarb. Das Foto zeigt das Fossil, das der Bonner Paläontologe Georg August Goldfuß 1831 erstmalig beschrieben hatte. Die Schädellänge beträgt 11,5 cm.
