Ein etwa 15 mal 15 Zentimeter großes Solarmodul besteht aus mehreren Streifen Solarzellen. Diese auf Papier gedruckten Solarmodule werden mit Druckknöpfen elektrisch verbunden und bilden eine Serienschaltung. An den beiden Enden der Serie wird jeweils ein Anschlusskabel angeknüpft. Die Vorderseite des Moduls besteht aus dem aktiven Schichtaufbau, auf der Rückseite ist das Papiersubstrat zu erkennen.
