Mit gepulsten Laserstrahlen schossen die Materialforscher winzige Löcher in die hauchdünne Kunststoffbeschichtung einer Kupferplatte. Die Löcher waren so klein, dass die Bakterien nicht zur Kupferoberfläche durchdringen konnten.
