Amerikanisches Forschungsflugzeug der Purdue University mit Messgeräten des Instituts für Umweltphysik bei Flügen in Alaska im Frühjahr 2012. Ein Teil der Instrumente ist auf der Unterseite des Flugzeuges installiert. Von dort aus werden die gemessenen Signale zu den weiteren Instrumenten im Inneren des Flugzeuges geleitet. Das Flugzeug wurde immer von Prof. Dr. Paul B. Shepson von der Purdue University geflogen und die Instrumente von einer Begleitperson bedient.
