Sand als Zeuge des Vulkanismus: Oben sieht man einen Kraterwall aus hellem Sandstein, der nach rechts scharf an die verwitterbaren Gesteine der Kraterfüllung grenzt. Links im Bild zu sehen: Das strukturlose Gestein eines Kraterwalls wird vom typisch schräg geschichteten Sandstein einer Düne überlagert. Rechts schließlich der Blick auf die Unterseite einer Gesteinsplatte: Sie trägt Spuren von Gegenständen wie kleinen Ästen, die im flachen Wasser des Kratersees über eine schlammige Sedimentfläche bewegt wurden.
