Im Gehirn der Fruchtfliege: Die kleiderbügelförmige, gelb markierte Zellgruppe im oberen Bild entspricht dem Gedächtnis für die unterschiedliche Höhe von Mustern. Für die Erinnerung an die Neigung von Kanten ist dagegen eine andere Gruppe von Nervenzellen zuständig. Sie erscheint ziemlich in der Mitte des unteren Bildes als kleinere, ebenfalls gelbe und kleiderbügelartige Struktur.
