Resistenztest von Streptococcus pneumoniae für Penicillin. An der Grenze des grünlichen Bakterienrasens sind einzelne kugelförmige Bakterienkolonien zu sehen, welche in den roten bakterienfreien Hof (Region mit hoher Penicillinkonzentration) einwachsen. Diese "Subpopulationen" weisen eine höhere Resistenz auf ? der Bakterienstamm ist somit heteroresistent.
