Abb.: Die Abbildung zeigt einen Gewebeschnitt durch Lungenarterien von Ratten, bei denen über einen Zeitraum von vier Wochen pharmakologisch Lungenhochdruck ausgelöst wurde. Die braune Färbung im linken Schnitt weist auf das Vorhandensein von EP4-Rezeptoren hin. Dagegen ist die Expression der IP-Rezeptoren stark reduziert (rechts). Das Forscherteam schließt daraus, dass die EP4- und nicht die IP-Rezeptoren der Anknüpfpunkt für die Behandlung des Lungenhochdrucks mit Prostanoiden sind.
