Licht in einem mustergültigen Gitter: Die Stuttgarter Physiker überlagern fünf Laserstrahlen zu einer quasikristallinen Struktur. Durch die Lichtintensität lässt sich steuern, wie sich die negativ geladenen Kunststoffkügelchen anordnen. Bei bestimmten Intensitäten bilden sie ein Muster (rote Linien), welches einem antiken Vorbild, der Archimedischen Kachelung, ähnelt.
