Den 2. Deutschen Kinder- und Jugendsportbericht nahmen bei einer öffentlichen Veranstaltung in Essen Bundesinnenminister Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble und der Generaldirektor des Deutschen Olympischen Sportbundes, Michael Vesper aus den Händen von Berthold Beitz, Kuratoriumsvorsitzender der Krupp- Stiftung (vorne rechts), entgegen. Im Hintergrund die drei Herausgeber der Studie, die Professoren Dr. Klaus Völker (Universität Münster), Dr. Renate Zimmer (Universität Osnabrück) und Dr. Werner Schmidt (Universität Duisburg-Essen).
