Bei einer Frequenz von 6,1 Gigahertz entdeckten die Forscher das Signal der Wasserlinie des Quasar MG J0414+0534. Das Hintergrundbild zeigt die vier Bilder des Quasars, aufgenommen mithilfe des Hubble-Teleskops. Die Vordergrundgalaxie wirkt als Gravitationslinse und verstärkt das Signal 35-fach. Das Bild der nahen Galaxie M87 (rechts unten) zeigt, wie man sich den Quasar aus der Nähe betrachtet vorstellen könnte.
