In 20 Jahren wird Laubholz statt bisher 38 rund 48 Prozent der Holzernte ausmachen. Doch welche Produkte können daraus entstehen? Die Untersuchungen zur Holzmodifizierung zeigen, dass für zahlreiche Produkte - wie zum Beispiel für Terrassendielen - vernetztes Buchenholz genutzt werden kann und somit Erzeugnisse aus der heimischen nachhaltigen Forstwirtschaft verlorene Marktanteile gegenüber Tropenholz oder Kunststoff & Co. zurückerobern können.
