Die Aufnahme zeigt kristalline Partikel des Pflanzenschutzwirkstoffs Boscalid. Er bekämpft Schadpilze in Kulturpflanzen wie Obst, Gemüse oder Wein aber auch in Getreide und Raps. Boscalid besteht aus ein bis zehn Mikrometer großen Partikeln, die sich gleichmäßig auf der Blattoberfläche verteilen und einen schützenden Belag bilden. Ein besonders wichtiges Einsatzgebiet ist der Weinbau. Hier ist Boscalid unter dem Namen Cantus® erhältlich und wird hauptsächlich gegen den Schadpilz Botrytis cinerea, auch Grauschimmel genannt, eingesetzt.
