Neuheit der Empa: Am Innovation Day vorgestelltes Modell einer Mehrkomponentenfaser. Eine Spezialflüssigkeit im strukturierten Hohlkern der Faser bewirkt eine geschwindigkeitsabhängige mechanische Dämpfung. Diese Entwicklung soll flexible Schock-Absorber ermöglichen, beispielsweise bequem zu tragende Schutzwesten, die erst erstarren, wenn sie ein schneller Stoss trifft.
