Berliner Max-Planck-Wissenschaftler entdecken neuen Immuntherapie-Ansatz gegen Anthrax
Einen neuen Immuntherapie-Ansatz gegen Anthrax haben Forscher am Max-Planck-Institut für Infektionsbiologie in Berlin unter der Leitung von Prof. Stefan Kaufmann entwickelt. Dazu setzten die Wissenschaftler Defensine ein, körpereigene bakteriozide Abwehrmoleküle. Im Rahmen ihrer Untersuchungen konnten die Berliner Infektionsbiologen gleichzeitig eine neue biologische Funktion der Defensine aufspüren (PNAS, 14. März 2005).
