IVAM Microtechnology Network resumes positively: Hannover Fair was a huge success - Exhibitors confirm uptrend

According to the Deutsche Messe AG, more than 200,000 visitors, about 96 % business visitors among them, experienced a renaissance of the Hannover Fair last week. The exhibitors came out with a clear conclusion: quality as well as quantity of the visitors was extremely positive. Some exhibitors could even double their business contacts in comparison to the previous year.

In hall 15 the forum "Innovations for Industry" was a magnet for visitors. On the forum which was embedded in the special exhibition MicroTechnology, above 50 top speakers presented newest trends and products from micro- and nanotechnology. This year, more than 30 companies from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan exhibited at the Product Market Microtechnology of IVAM. Products and system solutions ranging from RFID-Technology to microfluidics were presented.

"Our members are strongly export-oriented. According to our current market survey, microtechnology companies earn a huge part of their business volumes abroad. The MicroTechnology has attracted a lot of visitors from Asia. For this reason alone the trade fair was an amazing success", says Dr. Uwe Kleinkes, member of IVAM's executive board.

Especially the forum MicroTechnology has activated lots of visitors. The forum was packed when the Japanese microtechnology celebrity Prof. Esashi from Sendai and other representatives of the Japanese economy appeared on Monday. At the same time, IVAM Managing Director Dr. Christine Neuy guided a Korean delegation through the Product Market Microtechnology.

Top producers of micro technological components and systems presented current trends and products, among them Carl Zeiss AG, which deals with the dimensional measurement of micromechanical devices.

Patric Salomon, Managing Director of 4M2C from Berlin, Germany, sees a noticeable improvement in the number and quality of business contacts since the beginning of the MicroTechnology five years ago.
Dr. Oliver Humbach of Technotrans AG from Sassenberg, Germany, agrees: "The trade fair has advanced in the last years continuously", he notes.
The Sales Director of Jenoptik Mikrotechnik, Johannes Fröhling, also confirmed a huge interest of potential customers. "The visitors came primarily from Asia and Germany", says Fröhling.

"The economic demand posts an upward tendency", states Dr. Jürgen Koglin of FRT, a producer of inspection units for structures in the nanometer scope from Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. "The enquiries at Hannover Fair were very concrete."
