Die Verbindung von Robotern und informationstechnischen Systemen mag auf den ersten Blick als Wagnis erscheinen. Doch dieses Risiko geht die GMD - Forschungszentrum Informationstechnik GmbH mit ihrer Ausstellung "Seequence One" bewußt ein.
Am 29. Mai 1999 beginnt die Ausstellung Seequence One in den Räumen des Instituts für Autonome intelligente Systeme (AiS) der GMD. Bis zum 30. September 1999 zeigen dort die beiden Künstler Giovanna E. Aguirre und Lars J. Jonsson ihre Idee einer Vereinigung von Technik und Kunst. Sie bedienen sich dazu unterschiedlichster Materialien und Techniken.
Das Institut AiS entwirft und konstruiert innovative Roboter- und informationstechnische Systeme. Anregungen und Ideen für diese Systeme kommen häufig aus der Kunst. Umgekehrt soll die Forschung die Künstler zu neuen Werken anregen, die dann diskutiert werden.
