Der Bielefelder Gedächtnisforscher Prof. Dr. Hans J. Markowitsch hat auf der Tagung der International Neuropsychological Society in Dublin, die vom 6. bis 9. Juli stattfand, den Preis "Laird S. Cermak Award" für den besten Beitrag zur Gedächtnisforschung erhalten. Das Thema dieses Beitrags lautete "Functional Brain Imaging of Stress-Related Retrograde Amnesia". Markowitsch ist seit 1991 Professor für Physiologische Psychologie an der Fakultät für Psychologie und Sportwissenschaft der Universität Bielefeld.
