Im aktuellen FOCUS-Uni-Ranking, Nr. 40, vom 01. Oktober 2005, erzielt der
Fachbereich Mathematik der TU Kaiserslautern mit einem exzellenten Rang 3
wiederum eine Platzierung in der Spitzengruppe.
Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist die mit 10,1 Semestern bundesweit
kürzeste Studiendauer im Fach Mathematik. Die Drittelmittelquote, also der
Betrag, den ein Professor im Schnitt pro Jahr für seinen Fachbereich
einwirbt, liegt bei 96.900 Euro (bundesweit drittbester Wert).
Zusätzlich tragen die hohe Reputation in der Lehre sowie die zweitbeste
Promotionsquote (0,7), das bedeutet, wie viele Promotionen im Schnitt auf
einen Professor entfallen, zum sehr erfolgreichen Abschneiden der TU
Kaiserslautern in diesem Hochschul-Ranking bei.
