Start einer neuen interdisziplinären Vortragsreihe zu aktuellen Themen der Forschung in den Lebenswissenschaften:
19. Dezember im Deutschen Krebsforschungszentrum Heidelberg
Das Vortragsforum "Advances on Life Science" wurde von vier namhaften Wissenschaftlern der Max-Planck Gesellschaft (MPG), des Deutschen Krebsforschungszentrums (DKFZ) und des European Molekular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) ins Leben gerufen. Im Mittelpunkt der international besetzten Vortragsreihe stehen neueste Fortschritte in den Lebenswissenschaften. Ziel ist es, Akademia und Industrie eine hochkarätige Plattform für den Wissensaustausch zwischen Hochschule und Wirtschaft zu geben. Die Initiative wird von Leica Microsystems unterstützt.

Den Eröffnungsvortrag hält Prof. Dr. Shimon Weiss, Professor for Chemistry & Biochemistry and Physiology der Unversity of California, Los Angeles, UCLA, USA:
"Probing dynamic structures and molecular interactions at ultrahigh resolution in-vitro and in live cells using single molecules and single quantum dots".
