Alljährlich findet im Januar das gemeinsame wissenschaftliche Symposium der Universität Trier und der Theologischen Fakultät Trier statt. In diesem Jahr spricht der Rechtswissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Franz Dorn, Fachbereich V der Universität Trier, über das Thema "Wie das Wasser das Feuer, so löscht das Almosen die Sünde? Frühneuzeitliche Regelungen geistlicher Territorien zur Armenfürsorge und Bettelei". Der Vortrag findet mit anschließender Diskussion am Freitag, 20. Januar 2006, 18 Uhr c.t. im Hörsaal 1 der Universität Trier statt.
