Zum Thema "Deutsche Städte und Globalisierung" ist eine neue Veröffentlichung des Deutschen Instituts für Urbanistik erschienen. Die "Aktuelle Information" beschreibt zunächst die Verwendung des Begriffs Globalisierung sowie den historischen Hintergrund. Weitere Kapitel sind "Die EU und der Vertrag von Maastricht", "Der Standort Deutschland", "Die kommunale Ebene", "Kommunale Anpassungsstrategien - Die kommunale Wettbewerbsstadt" und nicht zuletzt "Maßnahmen und Strategien der Gegensteuerung".
