Das Fördervorhaben "BIOTA-AFRICA" des Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) wurde am Mittwoch, dem 22.03.2006, auf der 8. Vertragsstaatenkonferenz zum Übereinkommen über die biologische Vielfalt (CBD-COP8) in Curitiba, Brasilien, im Rahmen eines Side events vorgestellt und am Folgetag mit einem ganzseitigen Bericht auf der ersten Seite des ENB (Earth Negotiations Bulletin) gewürdigt.
Dies kann als außergewöhnlicher Erfolg für die Förderaktivitäten des BMBF zum Erhalt der biologioschen Vielfalt in Afrika im Rahmen des Forschungsprogramms BIOLOG gewertet werden.
