Kamera des Max-Planck-Instituts für Sonnensystemforschung liefert erste Bilder vom Südpol der Venus
Das am Max-Planck-Institut für Sonnensystemforschung entwickelte Kamerasystem "Venus Monitoring Camera" (VMC) an Bord der europäischen Raumsonde Venus Express hat zwei Tage nach Einschwenken in eine Umlaufbahn erste Bilder unseres Schwesterplaneten Venus zur Erde gesendet. Aufgenommen aus etwa 200.000 km sind darauf erstmals die Wolkenformationen über dem Südpol der Venus zu sehen.
