Der "Verein der Freunde der Saarbrücker Informatik" hat die Vortragsreihe "Saarbrücker Informatiker in der Praxis" ins Leben gerufen. Am 5. Mai, um 16 Uhr 15 (Geb. E 1.3 Hörsaal 2) wird Silvia M. Müller über ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen in der Industrie berichten. Die Informatikerin, die aus St. Ingbert stammt, hat sich bei Prof. Wolfgang Paul habilitiert und arbeitet heute im IBM-Forschungslabor in Böblingen. Sie hat dort an der Entwicklung des Cell- Prozessors mitgewirkt, einem Gemeinschaftsprojekt von Sony, Toshiba und IBM. In ihrem Vortrag wird sie auf das Design des Cell-Prozessors eingehen und von den Herausforderungen der Hardware-Entwicklung berichten.
