    Alfried Krupp Graduate School Tumorbiology

The Alfried-Krupp-Graduiertenkolleg Tumorbiologie/Alfried Krupp Graduate School Tumorbiology started its program in May 2005. Scientific topics are molecular and cell biological aspects of tumor cell resistance, characterisation of RNA and protein expression patterns and molecular analysis of chromosomal translocations to better understand development and progression of malignancies. Results will give a basis to better understand development and progression of malignancies and for new therapeutic stragies. Altogether ten young scientists work in institutions of both the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Greifswald. In addition to the laboratory work monthly seminars with invited speakers give young scientists the opportunity to get in contact with experts of the scientific community. In annual meetings the graduates learn to present and discuss their data in the presence of experts in the field.

In the Summer School 2006 two topics are in the focus of interest. In the first part, new developments in cancer therapies will be presented and discussed. Exciting new advancements in immunotherapies as well as the discussion of the usefulness of stem cells will be part of the program. In the second part, innovative methods and their contributions to the improvement of cancer research will be introduced by scientific experts. The lectures will contain new information on cells growing on chips, mouse models and proteasome chips. At the beginning of the Summer School, the doctoral students supported by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung will present their data achieved in the last funding period.

The Alfried-Krupp-Graduiertenkolleg Tumorbiologie/Alfried Krupp Graduate School Tumorbiology is funded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung, Essen. The Summer School 2006 is funded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung, Essen, the Department for Experimental Therapy of the University of Greifswald and the Department for Molecular Medicine of the University of Greifswald.

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
