Professor Rolf Walter in Komitee von internationaler Fachvereinigung gewählt
Jena (26.09.06) Auf dem 14. Internationalen Wirtschaftshistorischen Kongress, zu dem sich vom 21. bis 25. August rund 1.400 Wissenschaftler in Helsinki trafen, ist Prof. Dr. Rolf Walter für weitere drei Jahre in das "Executive Committee" der "International Economic History Association" (IEHA) gewählt worden. Der Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena gehört diesem Gremium bereits seit 2002 an.
Das 14köpfige Komitee ist für die inhaltliche Vorbereitung und Organisation der im dreijährigen Rhythmus stattfindenden Kongresse verantwortlich. Zusätzlich gehört Prof. Walter als Jury-Mitglied der Promotionskommission der Fachvereinigung an, die die Dissertationspreise während des Kongresses vergibt. Der nächste Kongress findet 2009 in Utrecht statt.
