Für zwei Jahre ist der Essener Historiker Professor Dr. Paul Münch zum Vorsitzenden der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Frühe Neuzeit im Verband der Historiker und Historikerinnen Deutschlands gewählt worden. Münch, der an der Universität Essen das Fach Neuere Geschichte vertritt, übernimmt mit diesem Amt die Nachfolge von Professor Dr. Heinz Duchhardt, dem Direktor des Instituts für Europäische Geschichte in Mainz.
