Professor Reiner Pommerin, Inhaber der Professur für Neuere und Neueste Geschichte der TU Dresden, präsentierte Mitte Februar bei der NATO in Brüssel die Ergebnisse einer Studie "Breaking the Circle of Violence. Detecting and Countering Civil Disturbances in Areas of EU- or NATO-led Operations", die er gemeinsam mit dem Diplompolitologen Max Bornefeld-Ettmann erstellt hatte. Diese sicherheitspolitische Studie ermittelte an den Beispielen Kosovo und Afghanistan Möglichkeiten, dem Ausbruch von Gewalttätigkeiten in der Bevölkerung rechtzeitig zu begegnen.
