Vom 4. bis 6. Mai findet im Congress-Centrum Würzburg die 56. Jahrestagung der Süddeutschen Gesellschaft für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin statt. Mitveranstalter ist die Süddeutsche Gesellschaft für Kinderchirurgie. Dieser traditionsreiche Kongress wurde zum letzten Mal vor 25 Jahren in Würzburg ausgetragen. Der Tagungspräsident Professor Christian P. Speer, Direktor der Kinderklinik der Uni Würzburg, erwartet mehr als 600 Teilnehmer, die im stationären oder ambulanten Bereich der Kindermedizin tätig sind. Die Schwerpunktthemen sind unter anderem Allergologie, Infektiologie, Rheumatologie und Störungen der kindlichen Entwicklung. Bei interdisziplinären Plenarsitzungen geht es um aktuelle Themen der Kinderchirurgie, Neurochirurgie, Kinderurologie, Kieferorthopädie und HNO-Heilkunde.
