Eine Gemeinschaftsveranstaltung mit dem Einstein Forum
Der Klimawandel ist eine der größten Umweltbedrohungen des 21. Jahrhunderts. Im Hinblick auf die alarmierenden Berichte in jüngster Zeit haben viele Regierungen damit begonnen, sowohl mit innenpolitischen Schritten als auch internationalen Kooperationen auf die globale Erwärmung zu reagieren. Allerdings bleiben dabei viele Projekte außer Acht, die bereits vor dem gesteigerten Medieninteresse unterhalb der Regierungsebene ins Leben gerufen wurden. Weltweit haben kommunale Verwaltungen erfolgreiche Initiativen gegen die Luftverschmutzung im allgemeinen und Kohlendioxid im besonderen gestartet.
Der gemeinsam vom British Council Germany und dem Einstein Forum veranstaltete internationale Workshop bietet Fachleuten aus Indien, Großbritannien und Deutschland ein Forum, um Ergebnisse und Defizite aktueller Projekte auf ihre Nachhaltigkeit hin zu diskutieren. Dies geschieht auf der Basis von Erfahrungen europäischer und asiatischer Großstädte wie London, Berlin, Neu-Delhi und Hong Kong.
