Rund 25.000 Studenten und fast 4.300 Professoren nahmen an dem zweiten Hochschulranking des CHE (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung) und der Zeitschrift "stern" teil. Insgesamt wurden 43 Universitäten und Gesamthochschulen sowie 102 Fachhochschulen in Deutschland untersucht. Dabei wurde auch der Fachbereich Elektrotechnik der Fachhochschule Augsburg berücksichtigt. Das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen:
Gesamturteil Studierende: 2,0 (Platz 10 bundesweit, Platz 2 in Bayern)
Studium und Lehre: 2,4 (Platz 5 bundesweit, Platz 1 in Bayern)
Praxisbezug: 2,6 (Platz 5 bundesweit, Platz 2 in Bayern)
