Der Mitbegründer der Theorie des kosmischen Dynamos, Prof. Dr. habil. Fritz Krause, ist 80 Jahre alt geworden. Bis 1991 leitete er den Bereich Kosmische Magnetfelder am Zentralinstitut für Astrophysik in Potsdam. In Würdigung seiner wissenschaftlichen Leistungen veranstaltet das Astrophysikalische Institut Potsdam (AIP) am 5. Juni 2007 im Schwarzschildhaus ein Ehrenkolloquium.
Dr. Rainer Beck vom Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie in Bonn, wird zu diesem Anlass einen Festvortrag halten. Anschließend wird es Beiträge von Dr. Frank Stefani vom Forschungszentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, von Prof. Jürgen Kurths von der Universität Potsdam und von Prof. Günther Rüdiger vom AIP geben. Im Mittelpunkt der Beiträge werden kosmische Magnetfelder und der experimentelle Nachweis ihrer Entstehung stehen.
